Introduction to The Prepared Bystanders

Trailer Episode 1 Know Your Fist Aid Kit

Episode 1 Know Your First Aid Kit

This is an introduction to the project I have been working on since 2022. We are now at the stage of releasing films to give you a sense of the project and how you can become involved. We are still accepting Sponsorship from businesses aligned with our work and we have a tax deductible donation page on Documentary Australia. You can find out more about this on the overview page here on this website. Welcome to the official launch! Sophia
In this first episode we discuss the "being prepared" with a first aid kit. The trailer will give you a sense of the film in a few minutes, and then you can watch the 40 minute episode packed with information. Feel free to send the link to the trailer to your friends or family who you think may be interested in what should be in their first aid kit!
In this episode, we begin by discussing the types of road crashes you may come across and the injuries you may see. Based on this we can then put together a first aid kit that will serve us well. We also run through some items in first aid kits that you may have wondered what they looked like "out of the packet" and how it is used.

Episode 2 is currently in creation. I am interviewing a number of people about the journey they had to repair the minor damage to their vehicle following a road crash. It seems there are 4 options - your insurance, their insurance, your mechanic, your smash repairer. Which is best? Release is expected by mid March.
Reserved for Episode 3. This might be our initial introduction to first aid skills. While we are not a replacement for a hand-on first aid qualification, the length of the course now, compared to when I was teaching it in the 90's and earlier this Century, leaves little time to practice skills in slings and fracture management. This episode should be ready by mid April.
Reserved for Episode 4. I am still setting up potential interviewees for this film so you will just need to standby! I'll let you know what to expect as soon as filming starts!
