Chris and his dog 1986

I didn't really know Chris. He was an undergraduate Media and Communications student while I was a Social Science student. Some of our lectures crossed over. He was a mature age student, maybe late 20's, that was the type of guy who socialized with everyone. He was very supportive of his fellow students as well. I know so little of him I don't even recall his surname or know the type of dog he had.

One day I turned up to a lecture to find solemn students reading a newspaper. I made a joke about reading the paper and was shown the death notice for Chris. The story was that he wanted to fly up to Sydney to see his mum, but they would not fly his dog, so he chose to drive up. Neither he nor his dog made it there alive. The College I attended created a perpetual trophy in his name for the most improved student each year.
