Government Departments & Motor Vehicle Clubs Each State and Territory has its own Government department responsible for transport, safety and roads. In addition, each has their own action plan to meet the Towards Zero 2050. Funding for projects like The Prepared Bystander may meet the guidelines for financial support. The Motor Clubs may also have an interest in this project and their support both financially and to spread the word to their members will be invaluable.
Businesses that may be interested in supporting a social campaign Many businesses are now supporting social campaigns either because it aligns with the vision for the company, or it improves their brand image. Whatever the reason, their financial support will be greatly appreciated.
Support in kind A project such as The Prepared Bystanders can be supported non-fiscally through partnerships. For instance, a collaboration between Ambulance Victoria and Monash University Accident Research Centre (currently in discussions) could involve research investigating Bystander responses at road incidents. Over time, it is possible that such a study could also be used to evaluate the outcome of the social impact campaign.
Additionally, organisations like Amber Community who provide road safety education to people who have lost their license due to driving behaviours may have another level of partnership possible. Looking at equally supportive partnerships, The Prepared Bystanders may be able to support organisations such as Lifeline or any phone debrief type of service that team members may need to access before formal support mechanisms can be established. We may be able to support their fundraising efforts to continue their services while we access their support immediately following an incident, if required.
Clubs & Co Clubs that have a database of members who are road users may also be able to partner with The Prepared Bystanders. Trucking Companies whose staff are reliant on the roads; motorcycle club members and cyclists who are our vulnerable road users; caravan and 4-wheel drive clubs who are also big users of the roads. Partnering with organisations and getting our message across their members would be advantageous to us both.
