|
Fifty percent less deaths in 2030 compared to the Baseline. The Baseline is the average number of deaths that occurred in 2018-20 according to the National Road Safety Strategy 2021-30, page 9.
Therefore, there will be a decline in annual deaths leading to no more than 571 lives lost on the roads in the year 2030. |
Reduce the number of serious injuries by 30%. In 2018 there were 40,000 hospitalisations. A reduction of 12,000 people seriously injured would meet this goal.
Thus, less than 28,000 people are hospitalised with serious injuries in 2030. |
At least 300,000 people have enrolled in the online education "The Prepared Bystanders" and at least 100,000 people have completed the practical training that complements it.
Paramedics anecdotally speak of an improved bystander support at the scene and/or there is research evidence to support this proposition. |
